Find the Support You Need, When You Need It
We know that cost can be a barrier to getting support, and we want to make therapy as accessible as possible. That’s why Collective Counseling & Consultation accepts several major insurance plans.
Insurance We Accept
At Collective Counseling & Consultation, we work with many major insurance providers to help make therapy more accessible. Coverage can look different depending on your plan and the individual therapist you’re matched with.
Some important notes about insurance:
Coverage may vary by therapist.
Some commercial plans do not allow therapists in training to join their networks until they are fully licensed.
Even if we are in-network, your plan may require you to meet a deductible or pay a copay/coinsurance at each visit.
We will verify your benefits before your first session, but we also encourage you to confirm directly with your insurance company so you know what to expect.
Here’s a list of the insurance plans we currently accept:
Commercial | BadgerCare/Medicaid |
|---|---|
Advocate Aurora Team Member Plan (UMR) | Anthem/BCBS |
Aetna | Chorus Community Health Plan |
Anthem/BCBS | Dean Health Plan |
Chorus Community Health Plan | United HealthCare |
Dean Health Plan | |
HealthPartners | |
Humana | |
UMR | |
UnitedHealthCare/Optum Network* | |
WPS |
*Participates in the Optum network, which may include coverage through affiliated partners.
Disclaimer: Insurance coverage varies by plan and therapist. Some providers may not be in-network with every plan listed above. Therapists in training may not be eligible for certain networks until fully licensed. If your plan does not cover services with your assigned therapist, we can discuss private pay options or provide a referral to a provider who is covered under your plan.
What Does Insurance Cover?
Most insurance plans cover outpatient mental health services, such as individual therapy. However, coverage can vary depending on your benefits.
Here’s what you can usually expect:
A copay or coinsurance (amount varies by plan)
A deductible that must be met before coverage begins
Possible limits on session frequency or type of service
Self-Pay & Sliding Scale Options
If you’re not using insurance or prefer to pay privately, we offer:
-
Standard 55-minute sessions with licensed providers
-
Reduced-rate sessions through the Open Path Psychotherapy Collective — offered by some therapists and subject to availability
-
Private pay options with therapists in training, who often offer lower rates
We also accept HSA/FSA cards.
Please note: Sliding scale sessions, including Open Path, are not eligible for superbills or insurance reimbursement. For private pay sessions, we can provide superbills upon request, which you may submit to your insurance company for possible out-of-network reimbursement. If reimbursement is provided, it will be sent directly to you. Payment is always due at the time of service.
Good Faith Estimate
Under the No Surprises Act, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your mental health care will cost.
This estimate is especially important if:
-
You are paying out of pocket (not using insurance).
-
You are choosing to see a therapist who is not in-network with your insurance.
What to Expect
-
Before you begin services, we can provide a written Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of therapy.
-
This estimate will include the session fee (based on the therapist you’re working with), how often we anticipate meeting, and the projected cost over a 12-month period.
-
Your actual costs may vary depending on your individual treatment plan, session frequency, and progress.
Your Rights
If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the charge.
-
You can learn more about your rights at: www.cms.gov/nosurprises
Disclaimer: This Good Faith Estimate does not require you to receive services from our practice. It is simply meant to help you understand and plan for the possible costs of care.
